Kona Cabin

Tucked away in a serene community about ten minutes south of downtown Flagstaff, the Kona Cabin is a great place for a quick weekend retreat or an extended getaway. With a beautiful and large outdoor patio area, the whole family can enjoy the clean, crisp air of the mountains and an evening under the stars while sitting around the gas firepit or in the hot tub.

A welcoming greatroom greets guests as they enter the home. With vaulted ceilings, expansive windows, and comfortable furniture, guests feel right at home as soon as they walk through the door. Just off the greatroom is a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and everything you need to cook a delicious meal. Just off the kitchen is a deck with an outdoor grill where you can spend the summer afternoons prepping dinner after a long day of exploring everything the area has to offer.

The Kona Cabin features four bedrooms and two and a half baths spread out over three floors. Two of the bedrooms feature king beds and two feature queen sized beds. The Kona Cabin is the perfect place to visit while exploring everything Northern Arizona and Flagstaff have to offer, including neighborhood access to forest lands and hiking trails that make it easy to enjoy a relaxing stroll in northern Arizona’s beautiful high country.

You will be just minutes from I-17, I-40, and a variety of dining and shopping options. The Arizona Snowbowl is a quick half-hour drive, and offers world class skiing at a family friendly resort. One of the seven Wonders of the World, the Grand Canyon, is just over an hour’s drive north, providing some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. A multitude of activities are also available at the Canyon, including helicopter rides, donkey rides and hiking.

Be sure to ask for advice on hiking or cycling trips, ski/snowboard lessons and rentals, cross country ski and snowshoe trails, sledding areas, as well as any of the dozens of Flagstaff area attractions.

  Beautiful setting - Great house. However, there were white dog hairs on the floor and most of the furniture. Also, the water heater in the upstairs master shower goes from extremely hot to ice cold. I believe there is a malfunction with the tankless water heater. Other than that-- very nice stay

  We loved our stay! Plenty of room for 11 people and a small dog. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable but the sheets and towels had a funny smell. One of the bed covers in one the main floor bedrooms had what looked like dry green boogers. They do have a washer & dryer that you can use & pretty much everything you need to feel at home. This is a great area to go for a walk and sitting outside early in the morning. The patio cushions were in bad shape but we used some blankets to cover them and enjoyed the fire pit at night. This is great place to stay in Flagstaff. I wish we could’ve stay longer. I give it a 4 out of 5 stars only because the cleanliness wasn’t great and the bathroom windows needed curtains.

  This is the second time at this cabin. It is a beautiful, large home that accommodates our family. They recently changed their sectional in the living room which is much nicer than the previous one. Dan is great at communicating with you if you have any questions or concerns. My biggest disappointments this time around was the amount of dust and dirt found underneath the couches and the beds. My children dropped a few toys on the floor and when we were picking them up from underneath the couch, there was so much trash and even someones acrylic purple nail. Another thing that was a bit of an inconvenience was the downstairs pullout. The mattress is so bad! My sister preferred sleeping on the floor since you could feel the springs in the mattress and it made it very uncomfortable.

  The property has lots of charm, tons of areas to relax,and a great yard. The manager communicated very well and was very accommodating. Unfortunately the house has some issues. The oven was broken which made dinner very difficult, it gets hot but has no working display. The drive way is very steep and in the snow I spent 10 minutes trying to pull out.

    Thanks for your review - so glad you had a relaxing time! The oven does heat up just fine, and we are looking into a solution to the display not functioning. Luckily the controls are designed that it's fairly easy to use even without the screen, though it can be a bit confusing. For the time being we've put a label on there to help our guests know it's working even if it doesn't look like it. The main driveway is blocked off for the winter, our arrival instructions ask our guests not to park there during this time. Instead the additional parking area is kept clear for our guests, which is flat, at street level, and holds 3-4 cars :) I hope you were very careful on the driveway, as we don't clear the snow off it!!! I do hope we'll see you again next winter, December is a magical time in Flagstaff!

  I could not be more pleased with this property. I’ve never stayed st another property that has been so accommodating. They practically had everything you need to make it feel like home. If they didn’t have it, there is a Dollar General just 3 minutes drive from the cabin.
  
  The beds and pillows were super comfortable. They had enough towels, sheets, and blankets for our large family. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you need.
  
  The only issue we had was that the LED display didn’t work on the oven. But the oven still worked great to prepare our Thanksgiving meal. Also, there are two large staircases in the house, so if you’re traveling with little ones be sure to take a child gate.

  Upon arrival the house took our breath away, especially the master bedroom. The house was very roomy and comfortable. There was plenty of space for the 11 adults. The location was beautiful. The backyard was a good place to hang out and play cornhole.
  I would definitely would recommend this house to my friends.
  The only problems we experienced were the sink leaked, the oven's LED display was out and according to the neighbors we were a little loud.
  However, the owner was responded promptly on all the above issues, including not hassling us about the noise complaints. We really appreciated that since we did not feel we were that loud.
  Overall great trip and we all had a lot of fun!
  
  One side note is it would be nice to have have better pillows, at least in our room. They were very skinny and flat.
